After a top-secret NASA launch in the 1970s—shortly after the Apollo moon missions had concluded—the Galaxy Guardians blasted off into deep space on a secret mission to search the universe for intelligent life.
But somewhere along the way, they discovered something far more important…
The music of the 1970s.
For decades, the Guardians remained in orbit, meticulously studying the sounds of the greatest musical decade of them all. Their research covered everything from rock, pop and funk to disco, soul and everything wonderfully eclectic in between.
Their mission uncovered a galaxy of unforgettable songs—from the raw energy of Spirit in the Sky, Barracuda, Hot Stuff and Surrender, to the soaring sounds of Give a Little Bit, Mr Blue Sky, Hold the Line and Ride Like the Wind.
They explored the musical worlds of David Bowie, Electric Light Orchestra, Paul McCartney, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Patti Smith and many more, while discovering classics such as Jet, Fox on the Run, Brass in Pocket, Hooked on a Feeling, Don't Stop Me Now and Escape (The Piña Colada Song).
There was funk. There was disco. There was rock. There were outrageous hairstyles, questionable fashion choices—and some seriously great music.
Now, after decades travelling the outer reaches of the galaxy, The Galaxy Guardians have finally returned to Planet Earth for 2027.
The instruments are tuned, the mission is back on course and the Guardians are ready to unleash their collection of 70s classics on unsuspecting Earthlings.
Expect the songs you know, the songs you forgot you loved, and a few that will have you wondering how NASA ever let these guys back in.
